Dr Lynnette Greyling is a lecturer at the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Cape Town, and did her PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand and MSc and undergraduate studies at the then Rand Afrikaans University (now University of Johannesburg). Her main research focus is mineralization in orogenic gold systems with emphasis on West Africa, and sediment-hosted stratiform copper mineralisation in Central Africa. She worked as exploration geologist for Randgold Resources for several years in Tanzania, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali and Senegal. She has also worked as consulting geologist in South Africa. She is currently supervising several Honours students and a MSc student.

Thesis Research: Fluid evolution of the Zambian Copperbelt

Fluid inclusion microthermometry cathodoluminescence, stable isotope analyses were combined with Raman microspectroscopy, and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry to characterize the P-T-V-X conditions of hydrothermal fluids.
