CIMERA Continues 2026 University Tour at the University of Johannesburg
CIMERA’s 2026 University Tour continued with a visit to the University of Johannesburg (UJ), where the team engaged with the Department of Geology as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships across our academic network.
Building on the momentum of the tour’s first stop, the UJ visit provided an opportunity to connect directly with CIMERA-supported postgraduate students, engage academic staff, and gain insight into current research activities within the department. With several CIMERA scholars based at UJ, the visit reinforced the importance of maintaining strong, on-the-ground engagement with both students and supervisors.
These interactions play a key role in supporting student success, tracking academic progress, and ensuring that CIMERA’s investment continues to deliver meaningful outcomes in research development and skills advancement within the geosciences.
The engagement also created space for discussions around future collaboration, research alignment, and opportunities to further integrate industry relevance into academic work.
As the 2026 University Tour progresses, CIMERA remains committed to strengthening institutional relationships, supporting its growing student community, and contributing to the development of a robust and future-focused geoscience sector.
