CIMERA Launches 2026 University Tour at Wits Geosciences
CIMERA officially commenced its 2026 University Tour with a strategic visit to the Wits Geosciences Department, marking the beginning of a renewed cycle of institutional engagement across our partner university network.
The tour forms part of CIMERA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening collaboration, enhancing student support, and ensuring accountability in the delivery of funded postgraduate scholarships. With CIMERA-supported MSc and PhD students currently enrolled at Wits, the visit provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with our scholarship recipients, connect with academic supervisors, and gain insight into current research progress and departmental priorities.
Beyond relationship-building, these visits serve a critical monitoring and impact function. By maintaining an active presence on campus, CIMERA is able to track academic progress, understand evolving research needs, and identify opportunities where industry alignment can further strengthen research relevance and employability outcomes for students.
The engagement also opened discussions around future collaborative initiatives, research alignment, and ways to expand student exposure to industry-linked opportunities within the broader geoscience ecosystem.
The 2026 University Tour will continue across partner institutions in the coming months, reinforcing CIMERA’s commitment to visibility, measurable impact, and sustained academic excellence. Through direct engagement with our students and university partners, we ensure that our investment translates into meaningful outcomes for students, institutions, and the sector at large.
