The DSTI-NRF CIMERA Science Writing Competition is back, inviting CIMERA-supported students and postdoctoral research fellows to explore this year’s theme, My Science in Your World.

Geoscience shapes the way we understand our planet, manage natural resources, respond to environmental challenges, and build more sustainable communities. Yet, the impact of research often extends far beyond journals and conference presentations.

 

This competition challenges participants to communicate their research through creative, engaging storytelling that connects science with society. We encourage you to move beyond technical language and share the people, places, experiences, and discoveries behind your science.

 

Whether your research focuses on geology, geophysics, geochemistry, environmental science, mineral resources, groundwater, or related Earth science disciplines, we want to hear your story.

 

Participants are encouraged to attend From Core to Community | Writing Beyond the Journal Workshop, an interactive workshop designed to help researchers develop creative storytelling techniques and communicate their research beyond academia.
