Funding Opportunities

DSTI-NRF CIMERA receives funding through the National Research Foundation (NRF) Centre of Excellence (CoE) funding mechanism.
Funding is awarded to postgraduate students (MSc, PhD, and postdoctoral research fellows) in the form of bursaries, as well as running costs to support research projects.
Students wishing to apply for DSTI-NRF CIMERA funding must do so through a postgraduate supervisor working in the field of economic geology.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to consult academic staff at one of the DSTI-NRF CIMERA-affiliated universities.
An annual call for project proposals is issued. Applicants are advised to monitor the website regularly or contact the CoE at cimera@uj.ac.za for further information and application deadlines.
