Our DSTI-NRF CIMERA Short Course Symposium in collavoration with Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF) at HZDR on “The Importance of Remote Sensing in Exploration: Earth Observation (EO) Tools” was a resounding success! 

Over two days at the University of the Witwatersrand, participants explored cutting-edge EO applications, from hyperspectral imaging and 3D surface modelling to machine learning and geological mapping.

The short course provided a valuable platform for learning, collaboration, and discussion around the use of EO in mapping the Earth’s surface and understanding geological processes.
