Dr Lauren Blignaut

Lauren Blignaut obtained her B.Sc. and honours degree in Geology at the former Rand Afrikaans University (now the University of Johannesburg), and received her M.Sc., on the impactites of the Chesapeake Bay impact crater in Virginia, U.S.A, from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2011. She is still actively continuing research on the Chesapeake Bay impact crater. In 2011, she was employed as a lecturer in the Department of Geology at the University of Johannesburg, and is currently undertaking her PhD on the geochemical and geometallurgical characterisation of the Kalahari Manganese Deposits in the Northern Cape. At present, she is co-supervising six MSc students.
